Publix 8/8/2013 - 8/14/2013 and a recipe
I wasn't thrilled with the sales for this week but here is what seemed like good deals to me.
I use the $6.98 for a 3lb bag of frozen chicken breasts from Wal-Mart and put that in the crockpot. Take 1 bottle of the BBQ sauce and dump it on top. Set the crockpot to low and then let it cook 8 hours. About 7 hours in pull out the chicken and shred it, then toss it back in for the last hour. There you have it, quick easy and tasty BBQ pulled chicken. Just serve on Hamburger Buns, we like them toasted, YUM.

Free backpacks from the Psi Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc
The ladies of the Psi Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, will host their fourth Annual: “Operation Back to School,” a free event providing backpacks and school supplies to K-5 children in the East Stuart/Martin County community. The event will be held on August 10, 2013 at the 10th Street Recreation Center, 724 East 10th Street, Stuart, FL 34994 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Participating youth consist of the children of the Boys and Girls Club, Angel Tree Ministry participants, and local children from the East Stuart community. In addition to backpacks with t basic supplies community organizations serving the needs of youth will be providing gently worn school uniforms, immunization information, health insurance information and dental health supplies. Additionally, raffles will take place throughout the entire event!
“We are so excited for Operation Back to School 2013,” Co-Chairperson Tonya Hodge-Hargrove said. “We want to promote education and wellness to the children and parents of the East Stuart community, and to provide them with a “jump start” to the 2013-2014 school year. This event is really going to help these local families easily transition into the new school year.”
A parent or guardian must be present with each child participating and lunch will be provided. Psi Pi Omega has received donations from several community and national organizations to make this annual event a success including: 2-1-1 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast, Inc., All About Achieving Learning Centers, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Inc., Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, Inc., Children Services Council of Martin County, Dynamic Pediatric Dentistry for Children, PLC.,Macaroni Kids of Stuart, Martin County Healthy Start Coalition, Inc., Martin County Library System (Blake Branch), Motor Cars of Stuart, Stuart Police Department, Treasure Coast Community Counseling & Coaching Center, Inc., and Whole Child Connection, Inc.

Un advertised special on Diet Coke and Cleats?
I had to go to Wal-Mart to get cleats and mouth guards for the boys, they will starting Flag Football at the end of the month. Cleats were on sale if anyone needs Connor's cost $7.00 (starters) and Alex's were $15.00 (Louiseville Sluggers) and the mouth guards were $.97.
But, while I was there I figured might as well grab some soda and PowerAde and get a price match to CVS ($.88) and Winn Dixie ($.69) respectively and noted that they dropped the price of the Diet Coke, well all Coke products from $1.38 to $1.00 per bottle.
I still made them price match (what $.12 is $.12) but $1.00 is still a dang good deal!

Wacky Wednesday!!!
Just a reminder it's Wacky Wednesday and Hungry Howies. The deal is pick up only, but you can get a large cheese pie with any flavored crust for $4.99 each, no limits! I personally don't like it but Jeremy and the boys do. We get 2 and they have it today with leftovers for tomorrow. So that works out to 6 meals for $10.00 that's $1.67 per person per meal.
